Dinner Meeting…Thursday, February 16…6:00-9:00 pm
"The Game of Quoting" by Kathryn Leech, APLD
ABOUT THE MEETING
It's imperative to get it down and get it right, since so much is involved in what you charge, how you charge, what you expect, and how clients perceive your value.
Your quotes can affect your client relationships and your income. An apt and accurate quote is a core element of developing trust, transparency, and good communication with your client.
We'll distinguish between bids and estimates and delve into the world of verbal agreements, handshakes, and ancient business customs.
LEARN TIPS & TECHNIQUES:
---Establishing your status confidently
---Validating your value forthrightly
---Pricing strategies and quoting tactics
---Assessing a quoting situation
---Potent retorts for sticky spots
GET ANSWERS & SAMPLES:
---Is a quote a legal document?
---When to use use a bid or an estimate?
---Why make a quote?
---Samples of quote checklists.
---Sample of Kirsten's 3-tier quote.
---What are you quoting on?
---What is a change order?
---What are disclaimers and other quote items?
---What needs to happen before agreement?
You'll also learn from your fellow attendees, since we'll be sharing, as the meeting format will be presentation and facilitation. Please bring your quote documents (agreements, bids, estimates). I'll do my best to go around the room and involve everyone. By the end of the meeting you should feel more comfortable and confident talking about money. You'll also leave with proven ways to get what you ask and ask for what you're worth. Quoting will be your ally!
